An exciting 11-day adventure to borneo during the October break of 2010.
Working with an internationally renowned volunteer organisation, 'Wild at Heart' (www.w-o-x.com), a small team of scientists will be embarking on an expedition into the heart of the Kinabatangan River, Danum Valley and newly discovered Muliau Basin in Sabah, Borneo.
Places are limited to 15 students. Immediate sign up required to secure a place. Video presentation to boarding and day students will be given during the first week of school.
A detailed senior (Gr 10-12) programme of study will focus on recording and measuring the biodiversity of the riverine rainforest, swamp forest and floodplains. Students will also assist in gathering field observations on endangered species, be involved in current conservation management practices, as well as enjoying the splendours of the bornean rainforest.
'Wild at Heart” is well respected by many international schools for its accommodation, food and, above all, safety standards during all aspects of the expedition.
We will be working out of the central research station along the Kinabatangan River for approximately 5 days. A 3-day excursion to climb Mount Kinabalu, studying the different zones of vegetation and the animals associated with each region is also planned. Additional excursions along the river and into virtually unexplored rainforest areas will involve detailed wildlife surveys, collection of valuable data fot natural area inventories and some sensational adventures.

Costs at the time of writing are all inclusive for the 11 days from pick-up in Kota Kinabalu RM 3,900.
Return flights from Chiang Mai to Kota Kinabalu via Kuala Lumpur are additional.

Where and when are the races?

All races begin and finish on the PTIS track. Each race has a start time of 8.00am, with registration opening at 7:15am.

How do I enter a race?

On the morning of the race simply turn up, check in and pay your entry fee.

An exciting 11-day adventure to borneo during the October break of 2010.
